We used Miscreant to record our first EP and couldn’t be happier with it! As a testement to his skill, Dave was able to make it sound awesome even though we were the first group to use the new Melbourne studio.
We highly reccommend MR for recording or mixing of any scale. Dave was great to work with, and put in some real useful feedback to amp up the songs. Being really patient and professional, it was a fun week but still got everything done and it sounds awesome!

Dave is a great engineer and producer. I’m outside of his usual genre of total rock but he worked wonders on a simple acoustic track with me and even added some guitar that really compliments the song. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him. Great rates and efficient use of time make for great recording experience.

I recorded the majority of the drums for our latest album with Dave at Miscreant Recording Studios. I have recorded in some of the biggest studios in the country and with some big name producers. I have also recorded at home and at our rehearsal space. Recording with Dave has been the best of all my experiences. He was easy to work with, really tried to capture me as a drummer and was cost effective.
Dave doesnt box you into a song, he works with you to get the best result for the song. You really feel apart of the creative process as well as the technical process. The end result was a great sounding drum track and a great sounding album which hit the nz top 40 sales charts. The mixes of the songs sound great and over all we are really happy with his contribution to our album.
Definately give him a call and discuss whether he is the right guy for your musical project.

Heya… Im Karlos of the band Primary, we done three songs with Dave in December and we are extremely happy wih the outcome. We went in looking for a certain production and he understood exactly what we wanted, the drum sound he gave us was godly. It was exactly how I imagined it would sound. One of the great things about recording there is that you get unlimited mixes which means you can come out with perfect songs. When it comes down to the music, thats what it is all about… You definitly will be getting your moneys worth and thats why we will definity be coming back to record a Miscreant Recordings again…

I’m Emma G – a singer/songwriter originally from Hamilton. I was referred on to Miscreant Recordings through Devan Vitali Jnr and the LASTAWAKE crew to record my first single “Goodbye”. (www.reverbnation.com/emmag). Dave was an absolute legend to work with – very professional, approachable and full of ideas and enthusiasm. He clicked really well with what I was trying to achieve and came through with great results. Dave is very passionate about what he does – and especially about helping NZ musicians reach their full potential. He gave great advice and ideas, and with his knowledge on music culture, he really shone through. I thoroughly enjoyed working with Dave, and look forward to recording my album with him next year!

Jimmy and the Goodbrew recorded two singles with Dave this year. He has a very profesional approach yet is laid back and very easy to work with. We’re all stoked with the sound that came out of the Miscreant studio. Dave gave some good input/feedback into our tracks as well as taking on board our opinions. Was a great place to record and the location makes it even more chilled and an easy environment to work in. I definitely recommend recording with Dave!!!

My band Anti-Venom recorded a single with Dave recently. Miscreant Recordings has a really relaxed out-in-the-middle-of-nowhere feel without even being that far out of Auckland. Dave is really good at getting the best out of a musician and we felt like he really worked with us to get the best out of the song. He was also good at taking our random feedback on board during the mixing process and took the time to make sure we were 100% happy with the final result. We are definitely planning to record with Dave again in the near future and would recommend any other band looking at recording to check him out

Hey Hey, I’m the drummer for the band LASTAWAKE and we have recorded with Dave from Miscreant Recordings… We did 3 studio rock tracks and 3 live acoustic tracks in Daves studio… The drums for the studio tracks came out really good and blew my bandmates and my own expectations, along with the huge guitar, bass and vocal tracks… the high ceiling made for a great room sound that is evident in the recordings… Also the live tracks that we recorded captured the raw emotion and energy in the songs that i was hoping to get and Dave helped with that alot… The best thing with working with Dave is that he is easy to work with, reliable, he has great advice/opinions, and over the time of the recording process i have built a great friendship with him and consider him to be a really good mate of mine.
I highly recommend recording and working wtih Dave and we as a band will definately be back… I speak on behalf of all of LASTAWAKE and say a big ups to Miscreant Recordings and Well Done!! 5 stars!! yeah!!

I tracked most of an album last year but when it came to the mixing I was lost for time, inspiration and confidence. So I handed the job over to Dave and he has surpassed all expectations! Dave is fun and easy to work with, professional yet friendly. He has a lot of pride in his work though still takes my many opinions into consideration with his mixes.
